Hailing from Shikharipura, Karnataka, Smt Bhat finished her primary schooling in Shikharipura and High School Agumbe respectively and later went on to obtain her Pre-University Course in Megaravalli and Shikharipura and BA in KHP at Shikharipura Govt Degree College, Shikharipura.
